How to Create a Carousel Pin on Pinterest
Did you know there are different types of pin available on Pinterest? There are five different types. There’s the static pin, the one we all know and love, and the video pin (which is exactly as the name suggests). You can have a carousel pin, useful for showing up to five images in one pin. There are story pins (not available in every country though, unfortunately!) and shoppable pins (again, not available in every country). In this blog post, I’ll go through how to create a carousel pin on Pinterest.
Carousel pins are great for showing mini guides to things. In this example, I’ll use my blog post 5 Places to Use Keywords on Pinterest as an example as that post was a guide on where to use keywords.
Your first step is to create your images. Carousel pins can have up to five images, so don’t make any more than that! I make mine in Canva Pro (affiliate link), which is an amazing tool for creating Pinterest and social media graphics with. Just use one of the templates to get started. When you have created your images, download them to your device. Top tip: rename your images to include a keyword!
Open up your Pinterest account and head over to Create > Create Pin. You’ll now have a pin canvas in front of you. Upload all your images onto one pin canvas (usually you would have a separate pin canvas per image, but as you want to make a carousel pin, upload them all onto one). This message will appear:
Select Create a Carousel, then hit Create Pin.
Pinterest will then create your carousel pin! The order of the images may be wrong, but you can easily drag and drop them into the right order. Hit Done when you’re done!
Now it’s time to build your pin. Make sure you use keywords in your Pin Title and Pin Description, and select the board you want your pin to appear on.

Hi Asma, thanks for your message. It’s the instructions above – head to Create as though you were going to make a new pin and instead of just using one image, add in up to five. It will automatically create the pin as a carousel pin for you. Hope this helps!
