How to Use Pinterest for Keyword Research
Did you know you could use Pinterest for keyword research? Part of the challenge of getting your content seen by your ideal client on Pinterest is knowing what keywords to use in your titles and pin descriptions, and this is where Pinterest can actually help! It’s really easy to use Pinterest for keyword research as well.
Firstly, decide what you’re going to search for but keep it quite broad. In this example, I opened the search by the magnifying glass on the top right of the screen. I typed in “how to use Pinterest” and the following long-tail keywords appear!
- How to Use Pinterest
- How to Use Pinterest for Business
- How to Use Pinterest Tutorials
- How to Use Pinterest for Blogging
- How to Use Pinterest for Beginners
- etc etc.
Make a note of each of these, as they’re all things that Pinterest users have been searching for and are great keywords to add into your pin descriptions and titles. These could be the basis of your next blog post or Instagram post. Pinterest is a great tool when it comes to content creation as you can search for what users search for.
Another great tool Pinterest has is Pinterest Trends. Head over to www.trends.pinterest.com and you can use this tool to see how often a keyword has been searched on a scale from 1 to 100.
It’s a little glitchy and not all keywords are available on there, but for example, if I search for “Pinterest” I can see Pinterest Marketing comes up. The graph shows how this search has been doing over time, and the trend seems to be on the rise (as it does for Pinterest boys!).
I hope this blog post has shown you how you can use Pinterest for keyword research, and how you can also use it for planning your blog content and social media posts!
