Heads up - you don’t need more content. You just Heads up - you don’t need more content. You just need a seasonal spin on the content you’ve already got.

That lemon cake recipe that does OK all year round? The one you still have 56 unused photos of in your files?

Turn it into a Mother’s Day brunch dessert, an Easter bake, a spring tea party treat, a light summer BBQ pudding… you get the idea 🍋

Pinterest loves seasonal content. People plan ahead, and when you show up in those searches, you stay visible for months.

If you’re not tapping into seasonality, you’re leaving traffic on the table.

Noticed your Pinterest analytics looking a bit dif Noticed your Pinterest analytics looking a bit different lately? It’s not you - Pinterest rolled out a big update in July which they announced on their 6 August call. They’re now focusing even more on showing people what they already love, based on their searches and clicks.

So if someone’s been pinning lemon drizzle cakes all week, guess what… they’re getting even more cake.

There have been some winners and losers in this shake-up, as always. If your numbers are up, keep going! If they're down, you're not alone.

What to do next:

📌 Check your analytics for any new trends - are certain keywords performing better than others?

📌 Dig deep into your reader demographics - what will appeal to them most in terms of pin design and keywords?

📌 Keep creating content that hits your audience’s favourites

📌 Try to focus on specific keywords so your pins pop up in more targeted searches

Have you seen any changes since the update?

Pinterest isn’t a quick fix for traffic - it’s a long game. Pins often take weeks or even months to gain traction, especially when they’re seasonal. That doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong - it just means Pinterest is working like it’s supposed to.

Keep showing up. Keep pinning. And let your content do the heavy lifting long after you’ve published it.
